Newport Beach beaches saw 1,132,200 visitors in July this year, according to a city memo.
Lifeguards in July had 24,464 public contacts; 4,652 enforcements; reunited 73 people; performed 704 medical aids; made 39,807 preventive actions; and made 1,017 rescues, the memo said.
“During the month of July, Newport Beach weather and water temperatures have averaged in the mid to high 60s,” the memo said. “The water temperatures toward the end of July read in the 70s.”
